Laid back and chilled out – Brisbane to a T

Brisbane is a city which is always moving and shifting, always growing into something better – perhaps that is why it is one of the most visited cities in the country, but there are many other reasons beyond that too.

One of the most laid back and chilled out cities you are likely to find, Brisbane is the capital of the sunny Queensland region, with a huge population of residents and visitors at any one time.

The city itself is split into various districts, as with most cities the world over. The CBD, or The City, is the main area, the centre of everything in the city; this is where most of the business areas are, as well as plentiful nightlife, entertainment, and shopping – Queen Street Mall is a definite must visit for those who want to shop ‘til they drop.

Moving further, South Bank is full of bohemian restaurants and cafes, perfect for something a little different. In this part of the city you will also find Queensland’s cultural Precinct, including several buildings of importance, such as the Performing Arts Centre, and Queensland Museum.

Fortitude Valley is a definite must visit, and this is where you will find Chinatown. This particular part of the city is also home to some amazing music, including the live variety.

If you’re looking for something a little more natural, head out of the city limits to Mount Coot-tha. This mountain is easy to climb, and there are plentiful walking and cycling tracks in and around it. For an amazing view, this is where you need to head.

Just outside the city you will find a couple of the world’s best natural areas, including the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. There are many excursions which head out to these areas, and they are definite must dos. Of course, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast aren’t that far away either, and can be reached by road in just a couple of hours.

As you can see, Brisbane is packed with attractions and activities, and one visit is never going to be enough. Make sure you venture outside of the city to check out the various wonders around it, and enjoy the vibrant nightlife you will find inside the city itself.
